Visitors arrive via small airplanes and are then ferried to the main island. Delfino Airstrip - The island airport, it features a landing strip and a small tower built on three small islets located east of Delfino Plaza.The developed areas of Isle Delfino are located mostly on the coast, and are as follows: Most of the island’s coastlines is made up of tall cliffs while sand beaches are few and far between. The terrain of Isle Delfino is extremely mountainous with Corona Mountain being its highest peak and an active volcano. According to the Super Mario Sunshine manual, it is located “far from the hustle and bustle of the Mushroom Kingdom”. Together, both form a distinct dolphin shape giving the island its name (“Delfino”, meaning Dolphin in Italian).

It is a tourist hotspot known for its natural sightseeing spots, entertainment facilities and succulent seafood. Known as the “glittering jewel of the southern seas”, Isle Delfino is a tropical island resort located in the southern seas and populated mainly by Piantas and Nokis. With all that said, let’s jump right in! And what a better place to start than Mario’s arguably most fleshed-out location? A Sun-drenched Tropical Paradise Now, whenever possible, I’ll be providing source to as many factual claims and evidence as I can, these will be presented like this! Nintendo usually doesn’t take a traditional approach to canon or lore in most of its series, Mario included, so expect a lot of theory-crafting, speculation and extrapolation in these entries.
